Five things the 'real' SG-1 thought after meeting the black-team SG-1 in 'Ripple Effect'.
Participation is open to all. If this is your own prompt, you're free to write to it (please do!). Post your list as a comment to this post, adding additional comments if you exceed the character limit. It's OK to post as Anonymous, then come out later or not as you choose. Responses will be screened until midday U.S. Pacific time October 13 to see what people come up with independently. You can still respond to the prompt after the unveiling, but October 13 is the official due date.
If your response is too long to post in (say, fewer than five) comments and you'd prefer to post to your journal and comment here with the link -- or if you feel strongly about posting content to communities and really want to keep the fic on your journal only -- we ask that you keep your entry set to private until we unveil here. Go ahead and comment here with the link; if you forget to set the privacy on your entry to public on unscreening day, you'll get comment replies here reminding you. :-)
General info and a place to ask questions: the comm 'welcome' post.
Technical-support questions: tech help.
Suggestions: the suggestion box.
To supply a new prompt: the open call for prompts.
Subject-line spoiler warnings for S5 SGA eps and Continuum, thanks!
October 13 is the official deadline. If you're posting a response after the unveiling announcement on October 13, please copy the link to your comment, click on the 'set 55' tag, and reply to the post 'Set 55 Responses Unscreened' with the link to your new comment-response. That helps people find and read and comment on responses that weren't there when they cruised through right after the reveal. Pimp the link in your journal, too, if you want to let your flist know you've posted something new.

2. each wondered if if any member of "the black team" hooked-up with another member of the team.
3. they briefly wondered if their counterparts had the same birthmarks in the same places, but quickly got rid of that image.
4. everyone wondered what happened to that team's jack or if they had one in the first place.
5. every single one wondered if they had been in the same situation, been that desperate, would they have done the same thing?

#4. Oh, what a great episode that would have been for an RDA cameo! Oh, well, that's why we have fanfic.
#5. Yeah, you bet they asked themselves those questions. *nods*

5 things the "real" SG-1 thought after meeting the "black" SG-1
"What's with the gum?" asked Cam.
"Huh?" Carter said, too lost in thought to give Cams question much attention.
"The gum. They're all chewing it like it's ...something that really needs to be chewed."
"Cultural idiosyncrasy?" suggested Daniel.
"Maybe the obsession with dental hygiene your people have is even worse where they come from" said Vala, head cocked and pigtails dangling.

"Damn, check out my Terminator 2, Linda Hamilton arms."
The others turned to stare at Carter.
"What?! She had really nice arms in that movie"
They continued to stare.
"I watch a lot of science fiction," Carter said defensively.
The looks were getting odder.
"It was a good movie." Carter muttered, arms crossed.

The black camouflagued team swaggered down the ramp, then assumed defensive positions when they realized this wasn't their SGC, looking hard as nails.
"Wow. We are so cool"
The rest of the team all turned to stare at Cam.
"Why am I never on any of these teams?" asked Vala.
The others continued staring at Cam, ignoring her.

It was a week after the alternate SG-1s had been sent home when Vala burst into Daniels office.
"That bitch stole my hair dryer!"
"Mmmm" Daniel murmured, eyes scanning his book.
"And it was a really good one, you barely had enough room left on your credit card to afford it."
"Wait, what?" Daniel said, realizing he should probably be paying attention when Vala and his credit card were involved.
"The other you. He stole my hair dryer. He kept playing with his hair and primping, I know it was him."
"What about my credit card?" Daniel said worriedly.
"I bet he'd have gone for the whole hair styling set if I hadn't gotten that fire safe for my valuables. Don't worry, the safe was very cheaply priced. Well, cheap for a safe, anyway"
"What about my credit card?" repeated Daniel.
"Ugh! you're missing the point" Vala said as she hoped off his desk and stalked out of the room in annoyance. Behind her Daniel began frantically looking through the papers on his desk for his credit card statement.

"Why are we Black?" ask Cameron.
"I believe the preferred term is African American." said Daniel.
"Indeed." said Teal'c, eyeing his albino twin.
"Is it true? What I've heard about Black men?" asked Vala, eyeing Daniels counterpart.

Teal’c examined his feelings about Colonel Mitchell, and decided that given the choices, he was glad to be on a team with this one.
Daniel tried not to think about it, tried not to think about yet another time where circumstances led him into being evil—it didn’t seem to take much, and that scared him.
Cam just wished they had grown mustaches to make it easier to figure out. Except Sam—that would have been too weird.
They all wondered about the inevitable reality where the black SG-1 did accomplish their mission.

YES. Daniel is very self-aware of that fact about himself, and I love this.
